About Jenny

Jenny Frøysa comes from the small village of Kråkstad, outside of Oslo, Norway. Born in 1997, music was always an important part of her life, starting from an early age just lying on the floor, rolling her head from side to side listening to music on the stereo.

She began playing saxophone and piano at age 9, mostly jazz and classical. After finishing music high school, she moved to Inderøya in Trøndelag to attend the jazz program at Sund Folk College. Then, having to take some time to figure out if music was the path to take, she spent one year working at the local elementary school in Kråkstad and playing with friends in Oslo, which made her sure about going all in to music.

She studied at the quite famous “Jazzlinja i Trondheim” (the jazz department at NTNU in Trondheim, Norway) from 2018-2021, where she met a lot of great musicians and started touring, making records and writing music with different projects. After two years of doing part time studies in pedagogy 2021-2023, she is now mainly a freelance musician and composer, doing some teaching at Jazzlinja where she graduated in 2021. She is still Trondheim based, residing at the beautiful Rotvoll Kunstnerkollektiv (Rotvoll Artist Collective).
